First off: I am not a financial advisor. I‘m just passing on knowledge so you can do what‘s best for you. Please do your own research before making any kind of investment.
In a slight departure from what I‘ve written about in the past, I wanted to share this info that may have flown under the radar for many. For those who aren‘t aware, there‘s a major economic shift happening behind the scenes right now amidst the chaos of COVID-19, inflation, unemployment, etc. Read that part like you need to (i.e. follow the money). If you‘ve been skeptical towards cryptocurrencies, or just aren‘t up to speed on the topic, NOW is the time to educate yourself.
Right now there’s an XRP Debit Mastercard being offered through GlobaliD, where you can earn 2% cash back in XRP for qualified purchases. For now, it’s only it’s only open to US residents–except those in Colorado, Hawaii, Louisiana, Nevada, New York & Virginia unfortunately:-(
Bitcoin may be the first thing people think of when they hear “cryptocurrency”, but there are thousands of other coins out there. Instead of following the trends (like Dogecoin), it’s wiser to invest in ones that have real-world use cases. Ripple (the company behind XRP) is making major connections within finance and government since their technology provides quick, low-cost, cross-border payments. XRP isn‘t available for US citizens to trade on most exchanges at the moment due to an ongoing SEC case, so grabbing this debit card while it’s still available and earning 2% cash back in the form of XRP could be a smart long-term play. I think it‘s a once in a blue moon deal akin to Mark Cuban buying his lifetime pass with American Airlines.
You can still purchase XRP directly on Uphold (that’s my affiliate link, so if you use it I appreciate you). Since the facts didn’t add up in the SEC case, they decided against delisting it.
With anything investment-related, my advice is always the same:
- DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH! You need to know what you’re comfortable with.
- Never invest in anything or go “all in” with your bill money.
- Remove all emotion from investing.
- BE PATIENT! If you’re looking for a get-rich-quick scheme, you’ve already failed.
